Who We Are

Although Dawro is endowed with potential natural resources, many agree that it is one of the most underdeveloped areas in the region. It is often said that the main reason for this is lack of national attention to the region. On the other hand, some people argue that the contribution made by indigenous scholars to the area is insignificant.
Due to a lack of good governance, many educated people leave the area rather than solving the problems the local communities are experiencing. As a result, the people of Dawro are grappling with various economic, social, and political challenges. The problems are pressing ones that need urgent actions.
To improve the current situation, local intellectuals, businessmen, and others need to contribute their part. Solving the problems the people are facing today needs concerted efforts from all concerned bodies. Dawro Intellectuals and Partners Association (DaIPA) was established with the purpose of creating a forum through which Dawro intellectuals and partners in the country and abroad can bring together their ideas and resources in a way that solves the basic development problems of Dawro people.
